The project FLOUR+ receives state accreditation, funding


    Vitagora®, the Taste-Nutrition-Health cluster (Pôle de Compétitivité) based in the French regions of Burgundy and Franche-Comté, has been informed of the accreditation of the project FLOUR+ by the government funding agency, the FUI (Fonds Unique Interministériel), during their 4th call for project proposals in relation to the implementation of Pôles de Compétitivité. This is a breakthrough for the project's leaders, the companies Groupe Dijon Céréales, Eurogerm and Groupe Elancia, as well as for all the members of Vitagora®.

  FLOUR+ has been an emblematic project for Vitagora® since the creation of the cluster in 2005 and is the result of a strategy developped by these three companies who are linked in a joint venture, the company Bourgogne Terre de Culture (BTC).

  A highly innovative project, FLOUR+ aims to put in place a method of characterisation of wheat varieties according to their nutritional and sensory potential. The research programme will determine how the nutritional and sensory potential of bread products are consctructed, evolve and are preserved, throughout the Wheat-Flour-Bread industry sector.

  A subject matter at the heart of Vitagora's Taste-Nutrition-Health strategic lines, as well as those of the Programme National Nutrition Santé (French government dietary guidelines), FLOUR+ will benefit from the knowledge and expertise present in the cluster's regions, Burgundy and Franche-Comté, with in particular the participation of INRA, the European Centre for the Sciences of Taste, the Gérontopôle of the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Dijon, the University of Burgundy (CREABio®) and the CRITT 2ABI.

  The accreditation of the project FLOUR+ will also have a direct impact on the implementation of strategic investments linked to the programme:

 FERME D'EXCELLENCE® - a testing platform for research into varietals and wheat quality,
 CÉRÉALISABLE®  - R&D centre applied to cereals, 
 CONSO’LAB® - structure for measuring consumer preferences.

  We remind you that the function of the FUI is to take part in the funding of projects (accredited by Pôles de Compétitivité) in so much as these projects present a unique industrial or technological innovation and be of national importance.
