Strategy and Objectives

Sustain - Develop - Lead – Promote

OBJECTIVES

  From now to 2009, Vitagora aims to generate revenue to the potential value of 375 million Euros, as well as 700 new jobs.

  The following objectives have been identified:

Use innovative projects to strengthen the local and national economic fabric, represented by the Vitagora Company Clusters that unite the economic players of the health and agro-food industries, at the various stages of production and commercialisation.
Reinforce the international visibility of the pole by shifting from an image of taste / heritage to one of taste / nutrition, with the aim of making Vitagora the top international reference for agro-food innovation of the 21st century.
Develop Vitagora’s integrated innovation platform by endowing it with pooled resources, by building up its skills base according to demand, and by facilitating the installation of new partners on dedicated sites.
Anchor new local industries by assisting them in obtaining market shares, creating new jobs or boosting their turnover
Encourage the creation of innovative new businesses in relation to these new activities


STRATEGY

  Vitagora’s main strategy consists of assisting the company clusters in connecting with the knowledge platforms on topics relating to R & D (public and private sector), technology transfer and training, with the objective of generating innovation projects with a high added value.

  Bringing together taste, pleasure and nutrition, Vitagora’s strategy involves all the participants of a given company cluster, “from the field to the table”. This strategy also incorporates the latest advances in food production relating to the cross-disciplinary concept of “the logic of the living”. This concept advocates agricultural and processing practices based on a respect for living systems and the natural qualities of food products. This approach generates value creation that allows for sustainable development and additional benefits for consumers and the environment.

Vitagora’s strategy is developed into the following missions:

  General missions:
Unite the numerous talents in Burgundy and Franche-Comté relating to taste, nutrition and health
Identify and develop projects emanating from the various company clusters that will create value and jobs
Select these projects according to their relevance to the strategy of the pole
Assist and support the running of the projects admitted by the Coordination Committee
Promote the overall strategy of Vitagora and the Pôle d'Agronomie National.

  Missions of promotion and reinforcement of the pole:
Contribute to the reinforcement of the knowledge platforms:
      Identify and develop the coherence of the skills
      Promote the platforms on the basis of their complementary nature
Solicit partnerships favouring further connections in view of creating innovative projects:
      Develop mutual acquaintance and synergies between platforms, company clusters and projects
      Encourage the holding of debates of an international scope, sponsored by Vitagora, on topics relating to Taste-Nutrition-health and, more generally, on the topic of food.
