Mission to Brazil: discovering the local agri-food actors
In November 2019, Vitagora took part in a European partnership mission to Brazil. Oisin Morrin, vice-president of Vitagora, Nicolas Machado, international partnership coordinator and Christine Urbano, managing director of SensoStat, met key Brazilian innovation players in Sao Paulo. These included the Food Tech Hub, ITAL, the Garage AgTech and the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture (University of São Paulo). In the south of the country, in Curitiba, they were able to discover the local industrial ecosystem: the federation of industries of the state of Panama and its network of food manufacturers, the OCEPAR, the Araucaria Foundation, the TecPar (Istituto de tecnologia do Parana) and the Federal State Universities.
As part of this mission, SensoStat enjoyed a programme full of personalized B2B meetings and the support of Vitagora.
This immersion trip to South America resulted in closer contacts between the local economic and agri-food actors and helped to identify project opportunities on topics such as AgTech, Artificial Intelligence, and animal breeding technologies.
This mission was organized in the context of the European project New Frontiers in Food – Fast Foward
