Use case - Petfood multinational

Petfood multinational – Intelligence resources to study molecules of interest in Japan
“A tremendous time and intelligence saver for our teams.”
– Anabelle, Pets feeding behavior and Food science Manager

During its internal monitoring, the pet food company had identified molecules with interesting sensory properties, but their suppliers were based in Japan. Without a research team in that country, it was not possible for them to collect and read scientific publications or commercial documentation to explore these ingredients.

Their needs

Knowing that Vitagora had an office in Japan dedicated to seeking opportunities in that country, they called on Vitagora to help them overcome this problem.

Solutions provided

Vitagora proposed compiling a monitoring report on the molecules of interest identified, enabling the pet food company to better assess the value of these products:

  • Bibliographic collection of scientific publications and commercial documentation published in Japanese, supplemented by consultations with experts in Japan accessible through Vitagora's network in that country.
  • Intelligence report: summary and analysis of the benefits presented in line with the pet food company's objectives.

The innovation engineers from Vitagora's team in Japan and France contributed to this report.

Results obtained

The deliverable provided to the pet food company's R&D team enabled them to quickly access information that had been synthesized by Vitagora's innovation engineers.

Thanks to this work, the pet food company identified a Japanese supplier that met their expectations. A Franco-Japanese partnership was established for a joint R&D program with the potential to create a significant competitive advantage in the pet food markets.

"We have internal monitoring tools based on artificial intelligence. However, these tools lack the ability to interpret and synthesize information, which is an essential but time-consuming task for our internal teams.

That's why we use Vitagora, whose monitoring deliverables are enriched by the perspective of an agri-food engineer. This represents a tremendous gain in time and intelligence for our teams."

– Anabelle, Pets feeding behavior and Food science Manager
